What you'll try

Start with the basics. Explore more of these tasks in the six-week workshop.

  • Use tools safely

Learn what each tool does. Prepare wires for a connection.

  • Try simple wiring

Connect outlets, switches and lights on practice boards.

  • Check your work

Learn parts of an electrical panel. Use a meter to test connections.

  • Bend metal tubing

Measure, cut, smooth and bend tubing that protects wires.

  • Find a problem

Follow a drawing. Work through a wiring problem one step at a time.

  • Find your next step

Ask what further training is like and what employers look for.

Brian supervises practice. Safety gear is required. Practice boards are not connected to live power.
